I came into a situation where a function for minimizing windows would be very useful.
This would be primarily useful for floating layout windows, but it would also be usable for clients of other type of layout.

How it would work - you press for example Mod4 + n and the window disappears, thought the client would still remain active - it would still be in the tasklist in the statusbar (the client button in tasklist would have small "m" in the left-bottom, just like maximized clients have a dot). You could switch focus normally between the clients, just the minimized clients would not take up space on the screen. Pressing Mod4 + n would make the window visible again.

On IRC someone already suggested moving the client to some "trash" tag, but that is inconvenient, since to bring the client back you need to switch tags twice...

I think this isn't a difficult feature to add.
