I liked Ion's use of ":" to signify that the command needs to be run in a terminal.
Basically ":mc" opens a terminal running mc. Excellent.

I've attached a diff showing how I get this to work with the awful/util.lua spawn() function.
I've hard-coded the use of 'xterm -e', what I'd like is to pull the value of the 'terminal' variable from the users config file. Is this possible?
Or maybe set and use an environmental variable, like AWESOME_TERM?

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  There is no real reason to do this in awful. The prompt gets a callback to a run function as one parameter, this could be done inside your config with ~5 lines of code :)
